Tignes is targeting 21 November for the start of its 2026/27 ski season, with an opening-weekend accommodation and ski pass package advertised from €120 per person. The planned launch covers the Tignes side of the ski area, including the Grande Motte glacier, rather than the full linked area with Val d’Isère.
For travellers considering an early trip, the distinction matters: the resort has announced an opening timetable, but the precise skiing available will depend on conditions. The weekend offers an opportunity to return to the mountains before the main winter season, provided bookings are made with those limitations in mind.
Two opening dates, two different ski areas
The official winter calendar sets out a phased start. Tignes, including Grande Motte, is scheduled to open on 21 November. The connection with Val d’Isère is planned for 28 November, a week later. Both dates are subject to snow conditions, and the winter season is scheduled to continue until 2 May 2027.
A trip on the first weekend should therefore be planned around Tignes itself. Skiers should avoid treating the opening announcement as confirmation that they will be able to cross to Val d’Isère or use the entire winter network. Those whose main aim is to explore both resorts may prefer to consider later dates, while still checking the operational picture before departure.
What the €120 package includes
The Tignes reservation offer advertises apartment stays of two or three nights with a Tignes ski pass. The starting price of €120 per person is based on two nights in a studio occupied by four people. It is a lead-in package price, rather than a universal rate for every apartment, party size or length of stay.
That occupancy condition is central to a useful comparison. A couple wanting an apartment to themselves should check their actual quotation instead of multiplying the headline rate by two. Travellers should also confirm the precise accommodation, arrival arrangements and ski pass dates shown in their booking before paying.
The booking page presents additional activities, including access to the Le Lagon aquatic centre, as options. They should not be assumed to be included in the basic offer. Availability and the final package selected will determine the price.
Which slopes are expected to open?

Tignes says the list of opening pistes and lifts will be announced in the week before the event. Its opening-weekend programme covers 21 and 22 November, with a welcome drink planned in Le Lac and Val Claret on Saturday morning.
Until the operational details are released, there is no confirmed list of individual runs to build an itinerary around. The event programme is also separate from the lift operating timetable. A published celebration schedule does not establish which lifts will run throughout those hours.
For an early-season visit, flexibility is useful: check the resort’s latest opening information close to departure and choose accommodation with an understanding of the access arrangements for the skiing actually available.
Buying a ski pass separately
For visitors arranging their own accommodation, the official ski pass page lists a €50 one-day Tignes rate for 21–27 November 2026. That early period is distinct from the subsequent opening of the linked area.
The standalone daily price and the accommodation package are different products. Comparing them means checking the number of ski days, the actual apartment cost for the group and any optional extras. A headline package price alone does not establish the cheapest option for every traveller.
Getting there and checking the booking conditions
Tignes identifies Bourg-Saint-Maurice as its nearest railway station, with the final journey to the resort made by road. The official train-access guide describes onward service on route S83 to the resort’s villages. Travellers should check services for their exact November dates rather than assume a peak-season timetable applies.
The package’s cancellation terms also deserve attention: the offer page states that cancellation fewer than 30 days before arrival incurs the full booking cost. Read the applicable conditions before committing, particularly when combining accommodation with separately booked transport.
What this means for your trip
The opening weekend is a potential short break for skiers comfortable with a limited, conditions-dependent start to winter. Budget using a real quotation for your group, check what the ski pass covers and wait for the confirmed piste and lift list before planning routes. If access to both Tignes and Val d’Isère is essential, the relevant planned date is 28 November, rather than 21 November.
